Rider Diaries - Gemma Tattersall

February has been a very busy month, I always think this is one of the busiest months of the year. All the horses are in stables as it's been so wet, and they are all fit and bursting! Resulting in the very constant use of my neck strap!! It's the month where we try and get them all out to some shows and Xc schooling to get them ready for the season!

We have also had a few squad sessions thanks to UK Sport under the new management. Chris Bartle being coach and Dicky Waygood being performance manager. I can safely say it has been fantastic. Chris is so enthusiastic and passionate, and we are learning so much about our position and balance and how it affects how our horses go. Arctic Soul and Quicklook have gone to both of these sessions, they are both feeling on fine top form and I'm just bursting with excitement to have them both in work and ready to go. Arctic Soul will be heading to Badminton via Tweseldown OI and Burgham CIC***. Quicklook will be starting slightly later as she is going to head to Bramham CCI***.

I've got some very exciting young horses coming through. I'm particularly excited about how Chilli Knight has grown up and is feeling like he could be world class. He is 7 this time and will aim to get to Le Lion at the end of the season.

Unfortunately the season was supposed to start for us at Aston Le Walls but silly rain has stopped play so we went for some more Xc schooling instead! I had to hang on to the neck strap once again!

Let's hope we can have lift off at Tweseldown.
