Rider Diaries - Jess Dimmock
It has been a busy but exciting month for me this February preparing my horses for the Sunshine Tour in Spain.
The horses have all had a rest over the winter so I'm looking forward to getting the year started out in Spain, it's a great way to get the horses up and running.
Five weeks of jumping, great competition and seven different arenas it's a great start to the year.
We also hope for some nice weather!!
It's three long days of travelling to get to the sunshine tour, an oil leak after the first stop meant it was a slightly longer and more stressful journey than anticipated!!
I have got five horses out here with me in Spain.
Two young horses, a five year and a six year old.
Spanish tours are a great learning curve for the young horses, my five year old Mouse has jumped some great rounds. I am really pleased with his progress.
Billy Fleance has been an absolute superstar jumping seven out of seven clear rounds, I have really high hopes for her!
I have three nine year olds to jump the international classes, they have also been on great form.
Jumping lots of great rounds and picking up many placings.
My best horse Cybel has stepped up to jumping the 4* 1.55m Grand Prix this weekend, I was delighted to have got round for a really unlucky four faults.
Lots of exciting things to come for her this year, I am aiming to be selected for a senior Nations Cup.
It has been a very successful three weeks out here, let's hope the last two weeks are just as successful!
