Which winter coat is right for you?
The clocks changing in late October signifies the start of the winter season for us equestrians.
Colder temperatures are here with dark nights and gloomy mornings.
Winter turnout rugs are coming out of boxes – hopefully you cleaned them before they went into storage!
Stables have been cleaned, fresh beds put down, water buckets filled, hay nets at the ready.
But what about preparation for you?
Horses aren’t the only ones that need protecting from the elements.
WeatherBeeta has a collection of winter apparel to give you the same level of comfort and protection that you would give your horse.
To help make the decision about which is right for you, we had two of our most popular coats tried and tested by the WeatherBeeta family.
WeatherBeeta Kyla Waterproof Jacket
Tested by Lois
When looking for a winter coat I always have one question in mind: ‘will it keep me warm and dry over the winter?’.
To put it simply… yes.
I have put the new WeatherBeeta Kyla Jacket through its paces in the wind, rain and cooler temperatures and it has passed the test on every level.
The Kyla is 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable with sealed seams and lined inner quilting, which are sure to keep you snug, cosy, and dry during the winter months at the yard, on a hack or on a walk with your four-legged friends.
What’s more, the four pockets based on the chest and further down for the hands provide an added comfort against the elements, and the internal zip pocket will keep your valuables safe and dry.
With the addition of a high funnel neck and lined hood, you are sure to be protected to the maximum.
Don’t just take my word for it, the 5-star reviews speak for themselves:
“I love this jacket. It looks so smart and is great to do yard jobs in or ride. A great all round winter jacket. Everyone at my yard wants one now!”
“A lovely coat, good size and comfortable to wear. I wore it all day to coach dressage riders outside, kept me warm and it really is windproof.”
“Very pleased with this jacket. Very comfortable and excellent pockets. Perfect for winter riding.”
The Kyla is available in the ever-popular Navy and the NEW Asphalt Grey for AW21, with sizes ranging from XXS (UK Size 6) to XXL (UK Size 18).
WeatherBeeta Harper Quilted Coat
Tested by Charlotte
I adore my new Harper coat! It is so nice to have a mid-length coat which is warm but not too bulky. It is a great fit and super comfy to wear. I wear mine for dog walking and the front pockets are large enough for all my belongings, treats for my dog & more. They also zip up so everything is secure.
The front zip is two way and there are also side zips for ease of movement. The high neck of this coat keeps me protected from the elements, and it is a soft material, so it is comfortable to wear fully zipped up. The hood is detachable and stays up when in use, I have been caught in the rain wearing this coat and I stayed dry, the coat also didn’t take too long to dry off afterwards either. One of my favorite things about this coat is the elastic cuffs, they are very cosy & comfortable to wear.
Available in Black in Ladies sizes XXS (UK Size 6) to XXL (UK Size 18), the NEW WeatherBeeta Harper Quilted Coat offers a slice of luxury with stylish leather detailing and antique silver metal trims. This coat is perfect for days out shopping, dog walking in the countryside or as a quality option for training and clinics, with the handy double side hem zips to allow for flexible movement when in the saddle.
