Business Development Account Manager

Rushden, Northamptonshire

About the Role 

Reporting to the Group CEO and the Northern Hemisphere Sales Operations Manager, the Business Development Account Manager will be a key part of our wider success story; you will have a growth mindset, be a strong relationship builder, a driven and sales focused professional to champion of our brands and able to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

The role will involve travel in UK with the potential to develop some key customers in Europe.

Working as part of the UK Sales team, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with the CEO to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives across Northern Hemisphere markets.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of new product launches, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and market trends.
  • Work with marketing and content teams to deliver compelling product narratives, assets, and campaigns tailored mainly to online retail platforms.
  • Sales analysis of past and present sales figures to predict future trends, adjust strategies and maximize growth. 
  • Facilitate the seamless flow of product data, content, and digital assets to key customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major online retail partners in the UK and Europe. 
  • Monitor performance metrics and customer feedback to continuously improve launch strategies and execution.
  •  Act as a global liaison between regional teams, ensuring consistent messaging and execution across markets.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

  • Experience in identifying and creating new business opportunities
  • Proven ability to exceed targets and work well under pressure
  • A strong business acumen and ability to review data metrics to make evidence based decisions
  • Be a lateral thinker as an approach to problem-solving that strives for creative solutions rather than the most straightforward answer
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent relationship building and customer service mindset - the ability to build rapport across many demographics, overcoming objections and achieving business results
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, Written and verbal
  • Be able to work collaboratively with others
  • French and German language skills would be of benefit but not a necessity 
  • Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point) experience and proficiency

  • Who resides within a commutable distance to Rushden - when you are not visiting customers you will have an office based at our Warehouse in Rushden
  • Who is happy to travel within the UK and potentially Europe
  • Ideally has Equestrian experience, Pet Industry experience or in Outdoor sporting goods and would love to represent some of our industry’s most celebrated brands
  • 3 years experience in B2B sales with proven track record of exceeding targets, preferably within the Equine or related industry
  • A driven individual, able to use their own initiative and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the delivery of excellent account management to their customers

About the Role 

Reporting to the Group CEO and the Northern Hemisphere Sales Operations Manager, we are looking for a highly driven and inspiring Sales Account Manager, who has the ability to create opportunities, has a growth mindset and is always up to take on a challenge!

The successful individual will play a key role in the development and execution of sales strategies, managing key accounts, and driving brand growth in a competitive retail marketplace whilst ensuring exceptional customer experience and sales performance is met.

The role will involve travel in UK with the potential to develop some key customers in Europe. 

Working as part of the UK Sales team, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively seeking out new business   
  • Building trust and developing lasting relationships with key decision makers
  • Growing existing accounts and spotting opportunities to expand the value we offer
  • Strengthening our brand's identity, image, and reputation
  • Reporting back with clarity and confidence on market intelligence, performance updates and forecasts 
  • Work with marketing and content teams to deliver compelling product narratives, assets, and campaigns tailored mainly to online retail platforms
  • Sales analysis of past and present sales figures to predict future trends, adjust strategies and maximize growth
  • Facilitate the seamless flow of product data, content, and digital assets to key customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Being an inspiring team player, working together to align efforts and deliver great results
